This October marks an exciting new chapter for Sorare as we begin our migration from StarkEx to Solana, a leading Layer 1 blockchain known for speed, scalability, and openness. This move is more than a technical upgrade, it is a step forward in our vision to become the most open and flexible platform for digital sports collectibles.

Our Vision: Openness, Performance, and Flexibility

At Sorare, we believe in true digital ownership that extends beyond our own marketplace. By moving to Solana, we connect your Sorare cards to a broader ecosystem. In the near term, this means expanded capabilities and utility on Solana: tighter connectedness to the heart of crypto, access to external marketplaces, and expanded payment options including ETH, SOL, and other payment options.

This starts by allowing you to view, verify, and trade your assets through popular wallets like Phantom, Backpack, and more. Solana’s powerful combination of high performance, fast transactions, low costs, and enhanced transparency aligns perfectly with Sorare’s growth ambitions.

In the long term, we are exploring every opportunity in front of us: forging partnerships with other communities, unlocking new forms of gameplay and utility, and possibly expanding our own ecosystem powered by a Sorare token. With this migration, we are building the foundation for a future where everything is on the table.

What This Means for You

If you are not deeply into the crypto side of things, you won’t notice much change right away. Your gameplay, collections, and card ownership remain exactly as they are today. The migration happens automatically with no action required on your part.

If you are interested in the crypto ecosystem, this migration unlocks exciting new possibilities. You will be able to use your cards on a broader range of platforms, enjoy improvements in payment options including Solana’s native token SOL, and access upcoming features such as special promotions, new gameplay mechanics, and more.

Key Dates & Info

We want to be transparent about what’s happening and when:

  • Starting early October, ETH balances currently on StarkEx will migrate to Base, Coinbase’s Ethereum Layer 2. This change improves transaction efficiency while keeping the experience familiar.
  • By the end of October, all Sorare cards will be bridged as Solana NFTs while preserving all your card’s attributes—scarcity, serial number, season, XP, and metadata. Payments and rewards will support both ETH and SOL.
  • You can withdraw assets to Ethereum mainnet before the migration if you prefer, though cards withdrawn externally will need to be bridged back to Solana to trade on Sorare’s marketplace.

Looking Ahead

This migration represents a foundational step in Sorare’s evolution. By leveraging Solana’s open and scalable ecosystem, we are preparing to deliver richer, more cost-effective, and transparent experiences that will grow alongside our community of passionate sports fans and digital collectors.

Stay tuned for new features and gameplay innovations coming soon, including the launch of NBA 2026—offering even more ways to play and engage with your collections. For more information, please visit our detailed FAQ here: https://go.sorare.com/yjrkm.
