From the Play-In Tournament to a potential Game 7 in the Finals, the 2026 Playoffs bring a fully upgraded gameplay experience, new cards, a reworked competition structure, and a brand-new way to compete: Quick Play Clutch.
This is postseason basketball, reimagined.
The Road to the Finals
The Play-In tip off on April 14 with the Play-In Tournament and run through June 19, where a Game 7 could crown the champion.
To match the rhythm of the postseason, competitions are split into 6 Game Weeks, each aligned with the intensity of each round:
- GW1 – Play-In (April 14–17): 8 teams fight for the final spots
- GW2 – Round 1 (April 18–22): 16 teams enter the bracket
- GW3 – Round 1 (continued): Until the final game of the round
- GW4 – Conference Semifinals: Until the final game of the round
- GW5 – Conference Finals: Until the final game of the round
- GW6 – NBA Finals: 2 teams. One title
Game Weeks will only close once a round fully concludes. If the next round starts early, those games are still counted within the current Game Week ensuring consistency and competitive fairness.
Introducing Clutch Edition Cards
The Playoffs demand a different level and so do your cards.
Launching on April 13, Clutch Edition Cards celebrate the players and teams stepping into the spotlight when it matters most. These special editions are more than collectibles, they are your entry point into a new competitive layer built specifically for postseason performance.
Clutch Edition Cards unlock access to Quick Play Clutch, a mode designed to reward decisive impact, stat dominance, and standout performances across the entire Playoffs.
Quick Play Clutch: Built for Big Moments
Quick Play Clutch introduces a new way to compete during the Playoffs, one that spans the entire postseason in a single competitive window.
Instead of rotating Game Weeks, this mode runs continuously from start to finish, rewarding consistent excellence and milestone achievements.

At its core, Quick Play Clutch is about performance milestones. The better your players perform, the more you unlock.
Milestone System
Managers will progress through a series of stat-based objectives, each tied to increasingly valuable rewards:

Every stat line matters. Every game can unlock the next milestone. If you fail to complete a milestone, your run resets and you’ll go back to Level 1. This is a mode where consistency meets explosiveness and where clutch performances define your rewards.
In-Season Competitions: Playoff Edition
The Playoffs bring a streamlined and progression-focused reward system across In-Season competitions.
Limited & Rare
Both Champion and Contender formats are evolving:

Hot Streaks Continue
Hot Streaks return for the Playoffs with an updated reward system while preserving your current progress.
Your progress carries over into the Playoffs.
There is no reset, meaning you can maintain your momentum and continue competing at your current level without interruption.
These Market Credits can be used across other sports on Sorare giving you the opportunity to discover new competitions like MLB or football, build new lineups, and stay fully engaged even after the NBA season ends.
Daily Pickup Stays Active
The Daily Pickup remains unchanged giving you consistent opportunities to engage, play, and earn rewards throughout the Playoffs.
Crafted Cards Go Clutch
Throughout the Playoffs, Clutch Edition cards are fully integrated into the Crafting experience—ensuring your rewards are always aligned with postseason gameplay.

Please note that some player cards may still be in Early Access and won’t appear as Clutch Editions during crafting.
To support remaining card supply, NBA Crafting includes players from all teams even those no longer competing in the Playoffs. While these cards won’t be usable in Playoffs competitions later on, managers can use available clues and context to optimize their crafting strategy.

Super Rare & Unique: Scaled Competition
For Super Rare and Unique competitions, the core structure remains the same but with dynamic adjustments. Prize pools scale depending on the number of active teams in each Game Week.
Arena Update: Enter the Colosseum
The Arena isn’t going anywhere, it’s getting bigger.
Introducing the Colosseum, a new way to compete during the Playoffs using your Classic cards.
This is an additional competitive layer, built for managers looking to take on higher stakes without leaving existing formats behind.

Essence Transition From Sorare 26 to Sorare 27
Essence will become seasonal starting this year and your 2026 Essence will be converted into 2027 Essence at the end of the season using a degressive conversion system applied across all scarcities.
Designing this rule required a careful balance:
Rewarding Managers who win and save Essence throughout Sorare 26, giving them a meaningful head start next season.
Protecting the Sorare 27 card supply, ensuring a healthy economy, sustainable crafting, and exciting reward pools.
