Update on the Star & Icon Collection missions:
Over the past few weeks, a lot of you shared questions and concerns about Collection missions that ask you to collect Star and Icon players, and where your progress can move down as well as up because of tier updates.
We’ve read this feedback closely, and we want to explain what’s happening and what we’re changing.
Why this happens. Star and Icon tiers aren’t fixed at the moment you collect a card, they’re tied to a player’s real-world status, which we update on an ongoing basis as players transfer, change leagues, or their form shifts. Because mission progress checks a player’s current tier, a tier change can change your count, in either direction. The recent transfer window moved an unusually large number of players between tiers at once, which is why so many of you felt the impact recently.
What we’re changing. We understand the feedback, and the need for Collection missions to feel more stable and predictable, so we’re moving the Star & Icon missions away from dynamic tiers entirely. Starting now, Collection missions that currently target a league’s Star and Icon players will instead target a fixed list of top players for that league, set once.
We’ve built these lists by taking the current Star and Icon players for each league and expanding on them, so the new list is a superset of what counts today. That means your progress can only go up from this change, never down. Every card that currently counts toward your Star/Icon mission will still count, and any cards you own for the newly added players will count too.
You’ll find the full player list for each league on the Collection mission page. Just tap into the mission to see it.
Thanks again for sharing your feedback, and for your continued support.
